When you use the builder, if you started from scratch (you just put a grid in your form and then use the builder) then the table will be in the form's data environment, so you can right-click anywhere in the form (where there is no other object), open the data environment, then right click in the table you selected for the grid and select "properties" and change the Exclusive from .f. to .t.
