You should be able to find a shareware or freeware sound recorder on the internet. Try searching Yahoo or Lycos for utilities like these.
Recording music from a CD into a .wav file is a simple task that many programs can do, but you cannot convert sound to a midi file. Midi files are digital compositions designed to be manipulable and moldable.
