Cecil, you've had the dreaded "socialism" in healthcare for quite a while now. How else would you describe Medicare, or Medicaid for that matter?

IMHO the separation of biggest costs for the taxpayer and biggest premiums for private insurers who hand over their patrons when they predictably reach their most expensive years, cannot survive. You'll see. IMHO it's no longer intellectually possible to rail against what you call "socialism" but is better described as "public funding" since public funds again will be needed to clean up the mess after the Capitalists run away. Again.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
