Excellent post and totally reflects what I feel about the issue.
Its the total blindness rage without having the knowledge to differentiate between good and bad drugs. Its also demonstrating the total blindness for things we (you) as a society has accepted for a long time. Alcohol, guns, tabbacco cause more deaths than the usage of marijuana and other (soft) drugs.

My kids has ADHD and has to take Ritalin to keep him just a little bit calm. That same drug is used as a party drug for non-ADHD people, because for them it has the opposite effect (they will get the very same symptoms that my kids has by default).

Drugs have to be used in a medical responsible manner, just like alcohol and guns. If you misuse it, you're in trouble whether or not the stuff is legal or not.
