Just to add to what Ed said about the win.ini file, if that's modified, in order for any open application (including VFP) to be aware of the setting changes, the API function SendMessage() must to used to broadcast the change. This will cause the open applications to relod a particular section of win.ini. If this is not done, the application will used the settings that were in place when it loaded. My INIFiles class, available in the download section, handles this automatically when win.ini is modified.
