You are not hearing me. Government spending is completely different from people spending.
Changing the subject, gratefully, we were driving around in Mad Town last Friday night with the Brewers-Cardinals game on the radio. They said Tony LaRussa had recorded his 5000th game as a major league manager. That is just this side of unbelievable. Do the numbers. He has been managing nonstop since the Carter administration. There are people here who weren't even born then. He has been named manager of the year four times (with three different teams, I believe), tied with Bobby Cox. And he is once again getting a good run from a team that doesn't look that great other than the peerless Albert Pujols.
Gotta love baseball.
