Sounds like you might want to have started a new thread, since David was (it seems to me) replying to this thread's topic of mailmerging.

For your situation, there have a lot of discussions on this topic. Cetin-among others- has posted lots of example code, so you might want to search the archives. Also, when you install Office, you have a choice of installing the VBA help files for the different Offices apps. I've found them to helpful--the only problem is that some of the VBA commands (I'm talking Word 8) in the help don't work in VFP 5.0, but they do (?) in 6.0.

Another good tool, is to record a macro in Word to do a task--like print a doc--and then view the code for it...
