Are you serious? Try reading a history book sometime because there are many reasons why. Without the governments involvement slaves would still be picking cotton. The goverment's job is to care for its citizenry, whether it be the general welfare, security or defense. The majority of your taxes go to Social Security and Medicare, to those deadbeat senior citizens. They should be able to take care of themselves, right? The percent of your taxes that goes to family assistance (which is the form of welfare that most people b*tch about) is about 1%.
But I'm sure you tithe 10% of your income to your church, right?
