>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>$4 billion since 1978 on California's capital punishment system + only 13 executions =t $308 million per execution. Wow.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>Capital punishment is an embarrassment this nation needs to eliminate. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for executing the Dahmer's and Gacy's of this world. Unfortunately in our country, capital punishment has had a severe bias towards minorities, and secondly, we have executed many innocent people. For those reasons I can not support capital punishment even if it means that future Dahmer's and Gacy's live out their days behind bars.
>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>instead of eliminating it totally, reserve the death penalty for the ones where they've confessed or it's absolutely irrefutable evidence. btk serial killer comes to mind. what's wrong with using it under those circumstances??
>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>There have been inmates released from death row that "confessed" because they found out they were actually innocent. I understand in some cases there may be irrefutable evidence - but I think the best thing to do is just join the rest of the civilized world and abolish the practice.
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Maybe if we had gun control like the rest of the civilized world I might somehow be convinced that I should go the extra yard on the death penalty. I dunno.
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>hmmm...I don't see how it being legal to make a gun means it should be ok to kill your own citizens.
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>I would have a real problem if someone who legally had a gun killed a member of my family in the commission of a crime. I would have a real problem if that criminal were allowed to live. Therefore, to not be a hypocrite, I would have a real problem if it happened to another person's family and that murderer were allowed to live. I guess this is my reasoning.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>So your reasoning is that a revenge killing is best solution? Killing is wrong so kill the offender? How does this not make hypocrite?
>>>>>
>>>>>If someone killed a member of your family or someone you loved in the commission of a crime like rape, robbery, torture, etc., you honestly would not like for them to be put to death??
>>>>
>>>>That is correct & I've been in that position before.
>>>
>>>Well I can respect that if you really feel that way. I'm being honest with myself and anyone that cares to listen that I would like to inflict the same pain and suffering on those that would do so to my family.
>>
>>Well you're not alone in thinking that way. One thing I've noticed about the death penalty argument is that it's quite rare to see someone change their mind about it no matter what's presented to them as an argument.

Temp is the same 365 days a year - low 75 high 85 - although I did see it drop to a freezing 71 once and heatwave once up to 88.
Bit of rain today but 6'-10' waves on the south shore :)
