>>>You have been around here long enough that you probably remember Norm Weil.

>Sure do. Great guy, and one of the old crew who moved freely back and forth from the FP camp as he used FP for commercial advantage in his business. As I recall, he vanished suddenly from Compuserve many years back. Is he still around?

>>>last time I talked to him he had been spending a lot of time in Shanghai, since the business has moved to China. He said Shanghai makes New York look like a cow town.

>LOL. Money plus cheap labor all over again, except that even your worst robber barons never polluted as badly as their Chinese counterparts.
I heard from Norm a few months ago for the first time in eons. He has been running his business all this time with a FoxPro DOS / TRO app and wanted to rewrite it. In VFP ;-) He didn't want to outsource the work, he wanted someone who could get him up to speed and then he was going to rewrite it himself. He said there are better programmers than him but no one who understands his business as well, which is undoubtedly true. I gave him a name but never heard whether anything came of it. He didn't say much of a personal nature other than that he has been spending a lot of time in China.
You aren't kidding about pollution in China. Their human rights record also remains dicey.
