There are two schools of thought on that. The other one is that it is better for children to go through a week or so with relatively mild diseases than make the diseases rare and potentially much more dangerous.

They have traced it to people that were not innoculated and travelled overseas. They brought back the disease and spread it to others. IMO, it's much better to get the shots.
