Was looking for something that had nothing to do with VFP and Java using the "StartPage" search engine.
In the ads at the bottom was a toolmakers ad with VFP and Java in the link caption - so I checked it out.
I do Java using a text editor. Java Beans is ok, but the Bean seems overly helpful and controlling when it comes to GUI layouts.
Anyway the shop is called
"Servoy - Next Generation Platform".
Among their claims ...
Visual FoxPro developers who have learned to develop with Servoy have found it easy and beneficial. We have had the pleasure of meeting and working with a lot of experienced Visual FoxPro developers, with the following being the top Servoy features they like:
* Version Control
* The Developer Interface (it's familiar)
* SQL Backend - without having to run queries yourself
* Deployment - deploy to Web and/or LAN from the same code base
* The Look and Feel (LaF) - looks like Mac on a Mac, looks like Windows on WindowsInteresting links to articles and web casts by such notable VFP Illuminati, including Mr. Ken Levy, can also be found there.
I mention this because I was checking out a GUI for large institution. It was cool fast and crisp and - it was Java.
Also ran across a 64bit DBF engine/imported class.
Why DOT NOT with sissies when you can Java with real bad a*ses?
