OK, first two lines.

"Early this month, Microsoft dropped something of a bombshell on Windows developers: the new Windows 8 touch-friendly immersive style would use a developer platform not based on .NET, which Microsoft has been championing for the past decade. Instead, it would use HTML5 and JavaScript."

It strongly implies that you can't use .NET. But there is nothing in that statement that says you CAN'T use .NET. This comes back to what I've been saying since the "bombshell" was made. People have their panties in a wad about what Microsoft didn't say. And what was not said doesn't mean squat. Until Microsoft comes out and says you can't use .NET stop whining.

Furthermore, so, it is HTML and Javascript. What's the big deal????????????????? Technology changes ALL THE TIME. If they came out and said, "It's all .NET. We're not supporting HTML5 in the UI" then people would complain about that. As the technology changes, Microsoft needs to adapt and use it. Go back and look at history where Microsoft refused to follow standards and push their own agenda.

Let's get over this and get back to work.

>That's not what the first line of the article says.

>>Hard to believe an article that is dead wrong right in the first line. Microsoft NEVER said that you can't use .NET for the Win8 UI.
