>Why would I spend any more time on it? It doesn't matter what I provide, you will discount it for your bias. Again, that doesn't make it any less true.

I do my best to be factually oriented. We all have biases, I do my best to acknowledge mine and not let them cloud my jedgement. If you or anyone offers proof or at least strong evidence of something I will listen and, if wrong, I will acknowledge my ignorance and/or inaccuracy and change my opinion. You have not provided hard evidence of your claims, rather you've cited anecdotal stories, wikis and your opinion based on your own clear feelings about oil companies.

Yes and have. In addition, I've likely eaten animals and plants raised with water near shale oil mining. Contrast that with the fact that I will not drink water from a tap in most cities. The reason? I cannot stand the taste of chlorine. I've lived most of my life with well water and I know that it is more unhealthy for me than city tap water yet I personally do not care because taste is a quality of life issue for me. So when I'm in the city I'm happy to pay extra for bottled water.

>Will you eat seafood from the Gulf of Mexico?

Yes, and likely I already have and if you eat fish or shellfish you likely have too. The Gulf provides about 1/5 of the US supply of fish and shellfish. Worry not, with all the close examination and testing going on, that which passes is very likely to be the safest seafood on the market.

>I won't. BP has too many politicians in its pockets for me to believe that the seafood is safe. I have the feeling we're going to find out in the years or decades to come some nasty news in just how much is being actively hidden.

Now, I'm also the one who goes out and buys whatever product is currently being panicked about. Tomatoes & lettuce during the salmonella scares were a particular bargain. It wasn't cost effective to have Spanish cukes or German sprouts shipped or I likely would've ordered them as well. ;)
