Hi Gary,
We have been using VFP with RAID5 on the servers w/o any problem for a long time.
The "Hardware Consultant" has no clue whatsoever. It's hardware configuration and VFP wouldn't know a difference.
All he proved is that new server is faster than old one. I bet it will be fast with properly configured RAID5.
