Well - the only thing I can say FOR SURE is that my password somehow got changed and I didn't change it. I'm 100% sure I was typing it in correctly - I even tried from 4 different browsers on 2 different machines - checked caps lock..etc etc etc. It really freaked me out cause I'm extremely cautious with my passwords. I didn't have this problem with anything else that I log into either - so I dunno it seems to me like something happened on the backend.
