>>>>>>The bad new is that Peter Falk has died. Goodbye Columbo. The good news is that Jack Sheldon hasn't.

>>>Cigars shown as blurred at screens. One of our TV put a flower on cigars, that's worse than blurred cigars... I wake up from Matrix when see the flower... :)

>>Clint Eastwood's "Man with no name" movies would be unwatchable and George Burns is turning over in his grave. ;)

>Were those really cigars in Clint's spaghetti westerns? In my memory they were cigarillos, halfway between a cigar and a cigarette.

You're correct, but I figured if they censor cigars, well....

>BTW, hearkening back to the raging debate last season, I will say without qualification that Roy Halladay is currently the best pitcher in baseball. He had a short string of rocky starts a while back but even then he pitched well enough to win. His last start was his 10th win and his 5th complete game. Many pitching staffs go all season without that many CGs collectively. Our pal Tamar is at the Phillies-Red Sox game tonight, Cliff Lee and Josh Beckett on the mound.

He's coming back to Toronto, but I can't get a fix on whether he's pitching Friday or Saturday. Should be a hoot.

>The Blue Jays are surprisingly (to me anyway) hanging around in contention in the loaded AL East. That is a beast of a division. (Do NOT get me started about divisional arrangements, some having four teams, some five, and some six). How closely do you follow them? Do you ever go to games?

I go to the odd game. Not regularly. I figure to go and see them play the hated Yankees in just a bit. I listen to the games on the radio in the evenings and weekend daygames. Baseball is a game for either being there, or listening to on the radio. No other sport is a radio game like baseball is.

The Jays have been hitting like the blind the last little while. They came out of it in the last couple of games, but we'll see. Bautista is having a hell of a season. People around here talk about him being in a slump because he's not piling up homers lately, but he's still hitting and still getting walked. Most players would love to be in a .325 hitting slump. And don't get me started on Adam Lind. My Lord, homer after homer. He's creeping up and he missed a passel of games. And Ricky Romero is having a whale of a season. Too bad Doc is gone.
