These stories pitting "greenies" against "greenies" are interesting. Wind energy advocates against land use advocates. But NIMBYism cuts across political groups. I suspect that there are some wealthy waterfront land owners (and GOP-leaning voters) in Nantucket, Cape Code, Martha's Vineyard, Hyannis Port, etc. who are against the wind farms. A Limbaugh-loving friend of mine dove into the often-ridiculed "environmental wacko" pool by pushing people to join a local group that promotes "Cleaner water, environmental restoration, fertilizer reduction, highlighting man-made environmental issues, etc" whose efforts are targeted at the body of water that his house sits on.
