Title:
Handling Corrupt Indices
I have a general, blood-and-guts question about handling corrupt CDXes.
If you have a scenario where a table's CDX is corrupted to the point that you can't open the table, then what is the approved method of re-creating the CDX so that the file can be opened and reindexed?
There's some legacy code in a system we have that is setting byte 29 of the DBF file to CHR(0) using FWRITE, but this sends shudders down my spine -- even if we find the new "correct" location, it seems sure to change at some point in the future and burn us again.
