Years ago I'd frown at this "Eastern", because it used to imply membership in the Soviet bloc - which we were not a member of. Anyway, we're rather Central European (by timezone, codepage and general geography). The East European timezone begins only 50km east from here, though.

>Actually I will pay you a compliment. Your command of English is awesome

Much good it does. I can't even command it to have rules instead of lists... that is, I tried to issue such a command, but it wouldn't obey :).

1) I did come back. Here :).

2) Staying here at least until the youngest graduates, and she's enrolling the next semester. So, at least several years. Also, got three elderly parents to take care of. They are all in late seventies or early eighties, generally passable for healthy, but there's stuff they can't do anymore and they simply need someone around at times.

3) I'd like to have some kind of visa which would allow me to come and go (and visit our property as well, maybe fix the roof etc) at will, without being treated as a suspect and without having to learn so much legalese and pay stupid fees every time I want to talk to an official about it. Until such a visa is available, we (the family) will hold our reunions (and spend our money) elsewhere. Sorry, US, you lose on this one.

Generally, the plan was always to live six months here and six months there. That's about how long we predict it would take each time until everybody is fed up with our stories of how life is so much better on the other side :). Then we'd just vanish before the tar is molten and feathers are ready.
