OK, but are you willing to sell your home for the same price you paid for it? If not, then the property inflation you enjoyed and now claim for your own benefit, forces younger people to borrow to pay the inflated price you demand. If buyers were to be "responsible" and refuse debt, then your property value would plummet until cash purchase is affordable for buyers. I'm sure you'd be pleased at such a responsible result. ;-) Alternatively, why not allow inflation to blossom momentarily so that the rest of the country can move closer to the same responsible pinnacle you occupy?

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I have never been in debt in my entire life. Even as a starving college student, I always lived within my means. The only reason that I am in the position I am in now is because I have been responsible my entire life. I worked my way through school tending bar (no student loans), paid my credit card bills in full from day one (no credit card debt or interest). The only bills I ever had were the mortgages on my first 2 homes and car payments on my first 2 cars. I fail to understand how this makes me owe anyone else anything.

As it is, the same generation forced to borrow to purchase your expensive assets also will need to borrow for your Medicare, since your own contributions were always woefully insufficient to cover your own costs. Perhaps it would be responsible to refuse to borrow to meet Medicare expectations of people who are quick to accuse while jealously guarding entrenched advantage for themselves. ;-)

This statement is truy ignorant. If I have an advantage, it is because I lived my life responsibly. I fail to understand why I owe anything to anyone who hasn't.
