I'm attempting to set up a local data cache for the Sync Framework in VS2010.

The Server is using SQL 2008 R2. The client us using SQLExpress 2008 R2.

Trying to add a local data cache all I am presented with is SQL Compact 3.5 as the client database.

Poking around at blogs/other crap on the internet I get various people saying anywhere from SQL Express can't be used on the client to No Problem with SQL Express (then giving dead links or irrelevant examples showing how it is done).

So..

Can I use SQL Express as the Locat Data Cache (w/o writing my own sync framework)?

If so, what do I need to do?

And for those who will suggest it isn't needed, I'm coming into this in the middle of a development project that makes widespread use of stored procedures on the client side..It wasn't my choice.
