>Does anyone else find this annoying or is it just me? Some people here seem to cc everyone who participated in a thread, whether or not they are relevant to the "sub-thread". Since we often have so much thread drift, I may have participated in one sub-thread and don't give a hoot about another because it has drifted off in another direction, and yet I get cc'd anyway.

Did you just say everyone should be a sissy? :)

Having an extra line in "replies to your messages" is a minor nuisance. Still happens once in a while, but not as much as it used to. When it does, I actually have real trouble remembering why am I sissied on a thread... sometimes I just leave it, sometimes the curiosity takes me into viewing the whole thread to my.memory.refresh(). In some cases I really don't see any reason why would anyone think I should be warned that something really unrelated to what I wrote was posted.

Sometimes it could be that the writer of the message doesn't understand that everyone will be able to see it, even if he doesn't check every name.
