>>I was speaking of US medicare, not other systems.
I was speaking of the real world where there is "evidence" about the systems you decry. Useful stuff, evidence- unless you've already made up your mind.
>>We have a fundamentally different view on the issue. I am not interested in other countries' systems because they all (to my knowledge) involve the government in a transactional role. I want that eliminated and all health care transactions to take place in the private sector etc etc
So it doesn't matter whether alternatives work better in real life, because you have already decided what is best and therefore do not need to consider the alternatives.
OK. Good luck.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
