I am working out of town and using a laptop for my personal computing in the evenings, and was running into some wacky display issues. After a while I realized that even though I am using a USB mouse, the laptop's mouse pad driver was also active. Every time I touched it the cursor jumped. If your new Win7 computer is a laptop, maybe you have the same issue. (I solved mine by configuring the mouse pad driver to be disabled if a USB mouse is detected at startup).
