Here's a strange issue we are running into with one client... Fox data is on the server. When one user logs in, everything is fine. If another user logs in, something happens and all users lock up, eventually getting a message that files cannot be accessed. It doesn't happen every time, but we did see it ourselves, right after the client rebooted all machines, including the server. Seems like some kind of locking issue.
* We have run Stonefield data repair on the files, so unless it is some kind of corruption that SDT doesn't detect, that isn't the problem.
* The server is 2008, but workstations are Windows XP, so we don't think SMB2 is the issue. We asked them to disabled SMB2 on the server just the same, and they told us they did.
* They have also told us they have replaced network hardware, including routers, switches, cables, and network cards, but the problem persists.
* They have not yet tried moving the data to another machine on the network to see if that helps. We have asked them to try that next and see what happens.
Are there any network settings on the server I should be on the lookout for that could cause this type of behavior?
