After updating from IE 6 to IE 8 (on Win XP Pro) I have the following issue.

I have an ASP.NET application on my PC (my own application) that I ran from LOCALHOST. It always worked in IE 6. Now when I enter this URL I am prompted to connect to my notebook. That is, I get a window “Connect to [MYNOTEBOOKNAME]” where I am prompted to enter user name and password.

What can I do to get around this? I don’t even have a user name or password to my notebook. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Solution found.
