Bob,

Make sure to delete any old dll's in the bin folder as well. Where are your references to the dll's from?

also, make sure your web.config contains the correct version numbers for all the dll's. One other thing, is to check the top of the aspx page delcarations. Sometimes a reference gets added there. You should just be able to remove them if you find any. Telerik is bad about that one.
