Not wanting to interrupt such charming discourse, but how come you're OK with the original joke about perceived value of girls in leather dresses, but not OK with stereotypes about English golfers? Perhaps they have bad teeth too. ;-)
FWIW, golfing in the UK doesn't always have the same business or socioeconomic import as it does in the US. For example, the sort of person who might lord it over the Golf Club in the US is more likely to be involved in equestrian pursuits in the UK and just being rich isn't enough to make you an aristocrat.
