Using Linux as file server is reliable and tested in heavy environments.
But have in mind, that have to check if record locking works fine, as this is adjustment in samba server.

In addition, reasontly I tested terminal sessions from Windows 7 agains linux terminal server. VFP 9 works fine in Wine Windows emulatiuons, but still have some unsolved problems. The problems are mainly in used API calls.
