I think the Nook is less ambitious in terms of processing power, memory etc. Is it touch screen? Do you have one? ( and I think nook is android 2.0 or something unlike the Honeycomb they are saying wll be on the Amazon tablet. If it is positioned to compete with iPad I would expect a 10" screen where a Nook is 7" ( put a PDF of an Apress or OReilly book up on a 7" screen and see how you like it )

Funny you mention it, since I have a few pictures I took of Calvin holding this Acer TravelMate 100. I am pretty sure it was in San Diego in 1997, I think I recognize Calvin's T-shirt. I have one identical at home myself. When Calvin showed this tablet PC, it was with Acer's permission, since it was a big secret, and due to be released a few weeks later.
