As you have read - Fragmentation is normal


Vfp causes of high network traffic is eg a complex SET FILTER in a hughe table. Best is to work with views in this case

Another thing to look at is the network speed and config of a couple of PCs

The network cards are normally set to Autodetect the speed

During autodetect, it may happen that
(1) [not seen this before, but you never know] It does not correctly detect the speed - verify if the speed of a couple of PCs is 1000 Mbit
(2) [seen this before] Verify that the flow control of a couple of PCs is full duplex. If the network cards go into half duplex, then this will slow down the transmission speed of the PC quite a lot
