I need to connect two or more networks of 3 to 5 computers. Each network will be running some local apps but need to be connected to the main net that is running a FoxPro for DOS turnkey package. (The VFP 5.0 conversion is not done yet.) I can use PC Anywhere and place an extra PC at the main site for each PC at a remote location and install a phone line at each location for each PC but that gets out of hand very fast. Obviously I can’t run a database app over the phone lines and although I haven’t checked the price I believe that a T1 or T3 line would be way too expensive.

One thought I had is to connect the two LANs somehow over standard phone lines perhaps using the new method of two dial up modems in parallel and making it one net. Then using PC Anywhere over Netbios, TCP/IP or whatever. I know there used to be software that allowed you to run a number of sessions in one powerful PC and that would reduce the cost at the central site.

I am open to any ideas and would love to hear about anyone’s experiences in this area.
