>>>I think either Mitt or Perry are capable of beating Obama. Perry had a great night last night, which he needed.

>>>The Republicans have a great 1-2 combo in the general election of the economy and Obamacare, but Mitt would have a hard time capitalizing on Obamacare.

>>>Perry might just be my new favorite, although the lefties are going to caricaturize the hell out of him, which we can't do with Obama because it would make us racist.

>>I am going to disagree with you reasonably, or at least try to. Not about the racism angle. We have been down that road before and it didn't get any of us anywhere. What I disagree about is your opinion that Rick Perry is being caricatured. IMO when someone calls evolution "just a theory" in this day and age it tells me he is either uneducated or pandering shamelessly to the Tea Party and other hard core conservatives. Yes, all politicians from all points on the spectrum pander to some extent. I thought this statement from Perry was major cause for concern, that's all.

>Excuse me... but when did it become the LAW of evolution? I believe its still called the Theory of evolution....

By some. Not by scientists. It has been a settled biological issue for some time.

I don't want to intrude on your religious faith. That is a beautiful thing, and I'm not being sarcastic. It's just that I am disturbed by what seems to be a rising tide of anti-intellectualism in this country. Scientific knowledge and invention used to be our strength. They led to unrivaled progress and growth. Now science and innovation have to pass an ideological litmus test. That doesn't sit well with me.

That was not said personally. You are on my permanent good guys list. It maybe did make me think a little less of you.
