>>I won't go into definitions, but I know many who most people would call stupid, but who are smart. One of them has problems telling you how much money you have left if you start with 100 dollars, and buy something which costs 20 dollars. Still he started and runs a company with more than 100 employees. He is smart enough to see his own shortcomings, and has hired people to fill his own gaps, so to say.

>The point being made, which is trying to be denied is this:
>If you graduate from Harvard you are more likely to be smart/intelligent than if you went to a non-elite college. Now take that a step further and say not only did you attend Harvard Law School, but you were selected editor of the Harvard Law Review, and graduated J.D. magna cum laude, and that probability ramps way, way up. I admit, this only affects probability. However, if you take all the editors of the Harvard Law Review who went on to graduate J.D. magna cum laude and compare them to C students from Bumpkin College, which group are you going to bet on being more intelligent/smart?

>It's ridiculous really that this discussion is even being had. Obama is obviously an extremely intelligent/smart person.

I once heard the definition that intelligence is something that you get by birth, smartness is how you use your intelligence.

If you insist that intelligent = smart and that smart = intelligent, then I shake my head in disbelief, and silently exit from this thread.
