Oh, go ahead, tell it now ;-)

I was sitting at the bar at the Hyatt between Steve Sawyer and Dan Freeman. Tom was trying to pick up some woman who was sitting next to him at the bar (surprise, surprise). Some woman about my size and coloring went up to Tom and asked him what he was drinking. He said "Drambuie". She asked him if she could have a sip and when he handed her the drink, she spilled in in his lap. Later that year, at Devcon 1997 in San Diego, Tom walked into the bar with Yuannita Morehart and Yuanitta said "OMG! There is the woman who spilled the drink in your lap at WhilFest!". She was pointing at me.

Thank goodness I had Steve and Dan as witnesses that it wasn't me. Besides, as I told Tom, the fact that I would never waste good Drambuie like that serves to prove that it couldn't possibly have been me <g>.

Tom never said anything about thinking he had a chance for anything other than friendship. For all his roguish urges he was a true gentleman. What he said was you were a lot of fun to hang out with in the bar at the conference hotel.

I agree. He is one person who never had anything bad to say about anyone. Did you know that he was at our wedding when we got married at the drive up wedding window in Vegas? I actually have pictures of him wearing shoes!
