Is there an easy way to pass the identity of the failing sub package back to the parent.

I've set the parent to fail if the sub packages fail and I have a routine to send a message out but I'd like to be able to attach details of where the failure occurred.

I can see examples of setting it up manually using user variables but I wondered if there was anything built in.
