>>At the moment as far as I know there is no "proof" yet that an innocent person has been executed since the USA resumed the death penalty back in the 70's. My guess is that sooner or later that will happen. The fact that a bunch of of death row inmates have been released because it was found out they were in fact innocent sort of leads one to believe that surely an innocent has been executed. Sad thing is that when the day comes that there is proof that such a thing has happened I don't think it will sway the thoughts of the pro-capital punishment crowd...for example there is a bunch of applause when this dweeb says he's killed 234 people and feels good about it. I find the whole thing mind boggling.

I'd say the odds are 100%. Like it says on the website, courts do not generally entertain claims of innocence when the defendant is dead - and defense attorneys move on to other cases where clients' lives can still be saved, so it's going to be difficult to "prove" one of these - especially when you have governors interfering with fact-finding commissions like in Cameron Todd Willingham's case or one of my favorites the Ruben Cantu case where the District Attorney issued a report finding that Ruben Cantu was guilty of the crime for which Texas executed him for - but this same DA was the judge who handled Cantu's appeal and set his execution date! Like how the hell does that happen? Helloooo conflict of interest! That jackass (Susan Reed) should be disbarred for life.
