>You really seem stuck on the thought that everyone who receives government assistance is a lazy moocher. If you don't realize that many, many of the unemployed and underemployed would love to be doing a full time job you are out of touch IMO.

>I had a contract with Invacare HCS until August 26th. They laid off a young woman who was working the phones at the end of August. A week later, when I stoppped at the drug store to pick up a prescription, there she was at the pharmacy counter. She told me the job was only part time but that it was a start. This young woman could just as easily sat on her butt collecting unemployment and food stamps. Instead she went out and found a job less than a week later even though it was only part time. Now here is someone who is not a lazy moocher....

Then she had another source of income or that was one hellaciously good paying part time job.

Marcia, I'm guessing that owning your own company keeps you employed most days - but it's tough out there. I've been unemployed since Oct '09 and, believe me, it wasn't for lack of trying. Unemployment paid for gas, prescriptions and food. My retirement fund paid for everything else. By the way, is it mooching when it's money you've paid into the system?
