Another interpretation would be that he is odd. Is it fair to characterize millions of people by the strange claims of one unusual person? I recall a conservative rally at which an interviewee claimed that he wanted a revolution so that he could seize property and kill families of undesirables he had selected in his community. There we have the conservative voting base? Don't think so.

IMHO the biggest threat to the US today is increasingly partisan politics that focuses on slapping the other side rather than trying to help resolve the big problems identified by the people.
