Rick,
My experience is that the grid control is like an object version of the browse window- you can only 'be on' one record at a time. I have, in past, had fields that showed a character, say an asterisk, that you can toggle on and off to perform whatever batch process you want (including deleting) - this is an option, however primitive. You can also use a list box to select multiple items, but of course, you wouldn't want to use that control on a large table.
