In this case, the reference to pigs in the AJE article leading to a comment about Wall Street's nefarious history, is a slap designed to appeal to an Islamic audience that already views the current version of Western capitalism with distaste.

Watch here http://abcnews.go.com/US/occupy-wall-street-protesters-americans/story?id=14655263 to see well-dressed observers on balconies raising glasses of champagne for the protestors to see. Perhaps they will feel less pleased when their images are used in the predictable fashion.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
