But they are the criminals only after that - the (not so) original sentence I replied to didn't say so.

>As clear as this concept is, I'm surprised that you asked.

But many illegals DO pay taxes, when they are employed via fake SSNs. Actually, I've found somewhere that just the Social security gets somewhere around $11 billion annually from such employees - who, then, don't ever have a chance of getting any of that back in any services whatsoever. And they pay the federal and state taxes as well. They must be granted at least local citizenship in Washington DC, where the car tags say "taxation without representation". Sidenote: this applies to legal temporary aliens as well.

BTW, the simplest way to find them, that even you or I could code in an afternoon, would be to do a query through SSN tables and just check for payments coming under different names and locations for same numbers... having count(*)>1. Check those and you got yourself a list of potentially fraudulent employments. Send local FBI units to see what's up, simple as that. Sure, loss of $11 billion will occur, and some businesses would have to shut down, but we can't accept money from criminals, right?

Now the $0.02 question is: am I the smartest guy on Earth? How come nobody in the whole administration (and a dozen previous ones) didn't think of this before? Or, if they did, why didn't they do it?
