>>>>>>>Japan said no. What a monumental eff-up of a president. "Hey Japan, I just want to apologize for my country ending the war with you that you started." It cannot be overstated how bad of a president we have right now.

>>>>>>In your mind, apologizing for incinerating tens of thousands of Japanese civilians seems like a bad thing to do?

>>>>>>Wow.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I'm glad the radicals (right and left) don't actually run this country.

>>>LOL, it's slang. I never understood why it was mofo instead of mofu, but so is life.
>>
>>OK. Worked it out :-}

>>>I'll have a discussion with you about this, because you seem less likely to fly off the hook because of lack of PC. What does an apology at this point really mean? From somebody who had absolutely nothing to do with it, to somebody who had absolutely nothing to do with it? Japan actually refusing the apology shows just how ludicrous the idea is. Apologizing for this act, which ended the most destructive war in history, sends a message about your willingness to use such weapons in the future. Not a smart move in an uncertain world.

>>Whether an apology is in order would depend on whether it was the right decision....

>Eliminating the debate for/against, the fact that Obama wants to apologize for something he had nothing to do with reeks of attention mongering. My understanding is that the WWII topic is pretty taboo in the Japanese society.

Fact? Are you sure your premise here is even factual? How do we "in fact" know President Obama wanted to make this apology?
