Here is a message I recently pulled off of one of the newsgroups. I have not yet had a chance to look at it, so I can't comment, except to say that VFP is a much better data development tool than VB. Who were the "higher-ups" that dictated VB and what was their basis for choosing it? Also, if it helps, ask them if they know about PowerBuilder & Delphi...at DevCon in October, Microsoft said that they consider these products to be VFP's competitors. Also, one other point of interest, VFP was recently moved from the Internet & Developer Tools division at Microsoft to the Desktop & Database group. This is the group that is responsible for NT, Win95, & BackOffice, which includes SQL Server. From what I have found out, this was to enhance the integration of VFP & SQL Server.

To All:

The Visual Foxpro vs Visual Basic Seminar notes are now available for
download. This seminar, conducted Nov 26th at Microsoft in Walthamm MA, was
a side by side comparison of these two products. It demonstrated them as
database development environments. An application spec was developed that
both products designed towards during the seminar. The presentation is a 30
page Powerpoint 95 file. It is not just a bulletted list of items. Its 30
pages filled with a lot of text describing each products features along
with many screen snapshots showing the different design surfaces...
