It's coming from everywhere. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, etc. Even stuff coming from smaller companies like JetBrains, ComponentOne, etc.

The advantage of Open Source is that it can be done by some guy in his basement. There are more basements than big companies. But just like the big guys' products, Open Source stuff can die too.
