tab order is set correctly. when page 1 is activated all text boxes are dimmed and they do not respond to click events until either the ADD or EDIT command buttons are clicked. the combobox does not behave this way. it is enabled at all times and the user can select any item in the dropdown list and it will save it to that record. i want it to behave like the text boxes.
that problem aside, i must admit that i find visual foxpro frustrating. even though i know i've only used it for about 3 weeks and that i need to give myself a lot more time, right now i wonder if i'll know any more a year from now! did you ever get frustrated with it? david
