About a decade ago I had a lady turn left in front of me as I was accelerating up to a freeway onramp. I was in a 7000 lb SUV, she was in a mid-sized rental. I swerved to miss but she went briefly under my right wheel and caromed into the light pole on the opposite side of the street. Her rental was totalled. Driver side hood & fender 1/2way flattened. Driver door unable to open. Right side caved in. My SUV had less than $600 worth of damage to the fender.
She was very lucky, only a concussion.
