As a programmer you should hate Apple's closed dictator-ruled eco-system. Android or Windows Moobile if for no other reason than they are "open".

I have had an HTC Incredible since the day it was released. Love it. Apple devices (iPhone, iPad) are what I would give my grandmother. They are too simple to screw up, but, because of this, also not very customizable.
