Corporations are still evil. The other day I got an email from Redbox saying they were raising their DVD rental rate from $1 a day to $1.20, attributing it to increased debit card fees. The more corporate malfeasance I observe the more I agree with Dragan.

Sometimes I honestly don't get what some people are thinking. Exhibit A at the moment is the backlash against the anti-bank sit-ins. The backlashers, the 53% as they call themselves, are outraged at the protesters. They're just looking for a free government handout, don't you know. They don't seem outraged at all at the fat cats who got us into this economic mess and were made whole from the public till, which would be you and me. To me that's what's outrageous -- private profits, public losses. The protesters, who are now spread around the world, have good reason to be mad as hell.

Rick Perry, the incumbent idiot governor from Texas, has already tried to score points with his base by agreeing with the backlashers. Please, please let him be the Republican nominee. Obama is vulnerable but none of this bunch of monkeys is going to beat him. The one serious threat, Romney, causes the dominant wing of the party at the moment to hold their noses. They will vote for him if necessary but maybe not in enough numbers to swing the election. Projected heavy turnout by Republican voters and low turnout by Democrats is the factor that scares me.
